With only two weeks left until we all reunite under the electric waves that is Imagine, many of us have been itching to plan our weekends down by the hour. Imagine Music Festival has upped the ante for their five year anniversary with a lineup worthy of the celebration. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is currently being transformed into an aquatic underworld soon to be filled by the sounds of legendary performers like Armin Van Buuren, Bassnectar, Kaskade, Green Velvet, and more. Tickets are reaching the 90% sold out range, so we highly recommend getting yours here before they are gone!
Many attendees have their favorite genres that they can’t get enough of, and one of our top EDM favorites is house music. One of the artists that has mastered their sound and that we are very excited to see at the Aeria Stage this year is Weiss. The London based artist isn’t new to the game but rather has been making his own spot amongst the top players since 2013. Tracks like “Tokyo Sunset” and his remix with Kharlanovsky of “Disco Fusion” landed him in the ears of heavyweights like Groove Armada, Loco Dice, DJ Sneak and others. The next year, Weiss’ single release, “My Sister”, really had him championed by tastemakers of house like Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke, Pete Tong, Shiba San, and damn near everyone else that was getting top radio play that year. This track also held residency at Beatport’s Top 10 for four months straight and got play everywhere across the world that summer.
After his EP Weiss City Vol. 3 contained festival circuit repeats, the producer heralded, and continues to do so, one of the top resident positions at Too15oom Records, taking the label to the next level. Weiss consistently brings the classic fundamentals of house like jacking grooves, warm, rolling bass, and perfect vocal manipulation into his modern interpretations. He has defintely mastered that classic, “Chicago house” style while still creating his own flair. While making his presence known, Weiss has beeen highly requested throughout his years of producing for remixes such as MK’s “Alana” and Gorgon City’s “Imagination”. Weiss has brought his special flavor of house to famous stages such as CRSSD, Dirtybird Campout, BPM Mexico, Sankeys Manchester, and Vista Club Ibiza.
Fast forward to now, Weiss is still breaking ground on new labels like everyone’s favorite birdhouse, Dirtybird Records, and German based This Ain’t Bristol. His EP Change Dat struck a chord with a lot of Dirtybird fans and Weiss can now call the label home. This year, Weiss has kept himself busy with multiple releases like his high-energy Acid Chunk EP and yet another summer hit “Feel My Needs”. Needless to say, we will definitely be getting our shuffle on at Weiss’ set on Saturday. Check out some of our favorite tracks below to get a feel for how killer his set is going to be.
