This week we have some major names for you and some up and comers that are creating their own path as we speak. Please keep all hands and feet inside until the drops have come to a complete stop, it might get rowdy! Kick back, crank the speakers, and get ready for our hand-crafted selections – this is Powerful Picks.
Party Thieves & Basko – One Zero Zero
Getting us started is trap legend Party Thieves and his good friend Basko. The two have teamed up to give us “One Zero Zero”, a ridiculously wonky and heavy tune, ready to make Eleven happy as it flips the club into the upside down. The hip hop vocals and moving bass line make this one end of the year tune you won’t want to miss.
graves – Meta (CRWNS Remix)
CWRNS is one bass producer that I’ve had my eyes on now for a while. His evolving sound has been great to witness and his take on graves “Meta” is as good as the original. This heavy future bass hybrid mixed with some serious trap vibes brings out a unique remix that will be hard not to love!
ALMAND – Ride (feat. Tima)
ALMAND is another artist that caught my attention with his release with PG-13 titled “Don’t Manipulate”. Well the amazing artist is back again with more addicting vocals and heavy drops. “Ride” features vocalist Tima, which create a soothing atmosphere as she lays down a mesmerizing top line. The drop kicks the tune into full gear as it takes you by surprise and twists the track into some melodic future bass vibes.
Minnesota – Dark Crystal
I had the luck of catching Minnesota live this year and his performance was one that stood out, as he kept control over the crowd and delivered a melodic, yet pleasing set. His release “Dark Crystal” keeps the melodic feel going as he introduces a more minimal and dark atmosphere. This added up to the perfect sound for NEST HQ, a home that couldn’t have been a better pick for the premiere. The unexpected percussion switch ups and dark turns will keep this record on repeat for a while!
