Turkey-based artist Republic In Pieces embodies a certain element that is unlike any other musician in the field: politics. If the name didn’t express the group’s political passion enough, their latest track “IOU” will.
RIP’s latest single “IOU,” released SectionZ Records, fuses a dark electro core with uplifting, hypnotizing melodies, but also blends an impassioned, politically-fueled, vocally-mutilated speech sample of a rather articulate individual expressing his disgust for a broken system.
Tying the two concepts of politics and music together conveys an unique, genuinely important feeling; sort of creates a political movement montage in the mind. Whether it’s passion for politics or a passion for music, RIP’s “IOU,” has a bit of something to get everyone riled up.
