Veteran artists Actress and Sampha have teamed up on the release of the first single off of Actress’ upcoming album ‘Karma & Desire’. Released on powerhouse label Ninja Tune out of the UK, “Walking Flames” is a gorgeous first glimpse of the project. It melds a walking piano-esque melody with ethereal synths and airy vocal accents to create a dreamy soundscape.
We hear Sampha’s signature vocals come in at about 1:15, adding yet another layer to this introversive track. It evokes images of peaceful sunset contemplations, reflective of the cover art. If the upcoming album is anything like this beautiful first taste it’s sure to please.
