Legendary saxophonist SoDown has strived to push the boundaries of electronic music since the start of his career. The Denver-based musician uses a melting pot of organic instrumentation, captivating melody, intricate sound design, and exotic digital production elements in his recipe for original bangers.
A pioneer in the wubz and jazz communities, SoDown layers his complex beats with shattering bass to create an equilibrium of dubstep and electrofunk. This special set of skills and creativity is demonstrated in his new release “All Go Wrong”.
Featuring the stunning vocals of Bailey Flores, “All Go Wrong” is a dynamic blend of sound that opens with booming drum sequences that lead into a gloomy piano progression. Overlapped by Flores’ deep-hearted lyrics, encompasses an eruptive bass drop and the groovy addition of SoDown’s saxophone.
Speaking out on the track, SoDown says, “for my debut album I wanted to be more vulnerable, both lyrically and musically. I consider myself to be a pretty positive person, but I wanted to explore some of the uncomfortable realities we all inevitably face in life. In “All Go Wrong,” Bailey and I wanted to evoke the feeling of being lost, and the trials and tribulations of the human experience.”
“All Go Wrong” serves as a precursor for the exciting future that SoDown has planned for his followers. The musical prodigy has just announced a 25+ date nationwide Worlds Beyond Tour, with a supporting cast of bass allstars such as Marvel Years, Evalution, Jaenga, kLL Bill, and more. Kicking off the tour with his Lost Lands debut and closing out with a hometown headlining show at Denver’s Mission Ballroom, SoDown and his originals like “All Go Wrong” are ready to change the game.
