Rïa Mehta is a New York-based DJ and producer that is revered for her unique style, a cross-breed between melodic techno and deep house. By spending her adolescence in India, Dubai, Sri Lanka, and London, she has a diverse background that is evident in her original productions. Rïa has received attention on a global scale, having opened for artists like Monkey Safari, Dosem, and Nox Vahn.
Adding to her exceptional resume, Rïa has also played sets on Desert Heats TV numerous times, with renowned EDM figureheads BLOND:ISH, Gorgon City, and RÜFÜS DU SOL all supporting her tracks. 2021 was a huge breakout year for Rïa. Her single “Sacré” took over the #1 spot on Beatport and she performed at popular venues around the world.
Continuing to develop as an artist and climb up the electronic music ranks, Rïa is back with her new song “Alone”, featuring outstanding vocals from Cathy Rocher. Discussing her collaboration with Cathy, Rïa says, “I reached out to my dear friend Cathy and asked her if she wanted to be part of the project: I could hear her haunting vocals in the background with a roaring bassline, and once she heard the idea she was happily on board. We riffed some ideas together and viola, the track was done.”
Inspired by old-school sound components, the track is nostalgic with a series of modern melodies sprinkled throughout. “Alone” has been released on the label Dit Klingt Jut, which signifies Rïa’s first project with the well-known platform. Booming organic percussion and magnificently executed synths take control of the listener, coercing them to dance to the hypnotic rhythm. Overall, “Alone” is a passionate auditory experience for anyone who is a music lover.
