Big Gigantic just released their junior album Nocturnal last night and it’s a free download for all of the people. Derek Vincent Smith really changed the edm industry by releasing all of their music / projects on the PLM label for free as we keep seeing more and more groups follow this method.
Nocturnal spans 10 tracks of soulful electronic bliss. Dominic (sax and production) does an incredible job of blending the classical jazzy style associated with saxophone’s into electronic mixes that get the people up and dancing. Some of my favorite tracks include Rise and Shine and It’s Going Down.
I’ve listened to the album a few times and it will definitely be in the mix throughout the whole month, but the real strength in Big Gigantic is their live shows. I caught them four times back in 2011 and they do not disappoint. Go see live music.
