Last week we strapped on our Black Tiger Sex Machine gear, hooked up with our fellow bass addicts, and took ourselves down to church to take part in the “Ceremony” tour. The Georgia Theater located in the heart of downtown Athens quickly filled up with fans eager to break their necks and throw their elbows. We started our night off with Sullivan King, the newest member of Kannibalen Records. He brought in his unique combination of heavy metal take on dubstep while throwing in some sick guitar solos. All metal heads raised their rock on fists and got the best of both worlds. Kai Wachi kept the bass going with his killer new single “MUD” and “Cadaverous”.
Black Tiger Sex Machine came onto the stage with a cinematic opening, the screens depicting this new found world. We immediately felt transported and was a totally different experience than what we have seen from them before. The tiger stage lit up and the crowd chanted “BTSM!” as the trio took to the decks. They kicked off their set with the ominous “Replicants” and our feet barely touched the ground after that. We got to hear our favorites like “Broadside” and “Crazies” while they weaved in their new album New Worlds with face melters “Zombie” and “Madness”. Of course, their set wouldn’t be complete with out some “ATL Hoe” chants in between. Their production had so many new elements, from the visuals, to the lasers, to the lights on their helmets. They couldn’t end the show without bringing all the artists on stage for one last track and some crowd surfing. With each performance Black Tiger Sex Machine finds a way to step it up and give fans an incredible experience.
