Earlier this month, Black Tiger Sex Machine dropped their highly anticipated New Worlds LP to help kickstart their 24 stop ‘Ceremony’ tour. The Montreal based triad have been keeping fans on their toes over the past year, with teases of a new album under works with single releases like “Face Down”, “NUMBERS”, and their most recent that is apart of the new album, “Zombie”. Black Tiger Sex Machine has been coming up in the scene with their unique style of electro dubstep with some throw in’s of trap, hip-hop and drum and bass for good measure. It’s been a long two years, but fans can now revel in the perfected project that is New Worlds.
BTSM has continued with the apocalyptic theme from their first album Welcome to Our Church, where the Kannibalen virus took surge over the Earth. Now they embark on attempting to rebuild from the rubble while also fighting against the world’s new found order of AI. Going through the track titles, they take us through a story of what a post apocalyptic “new world” could be and what lies within. The album is full of cinematic buildups, thundering bass, and dark rhythms that will leave you reeling. You can’t help yourself but to listen to it from start to finish over and over again because they completely transform your reality into theirs. This LP takes on the perspective of both transforming their sound, with metal influenced “Madness“ featuring Sullivan King’s vocals and dnb/electronica mashup “War“. We also see their interpretation of the current environment of expanding technology and political atmosphere with tracks like “Artificial Intelligence“ and “Rebels“ featuring Kai Wachi and Macntaj. To get more a feel for the inspiration behind the album, check out their music video for “Zombie” below.
A lot of thought, creativity, and love went into this album and as fans we couldn’t be more excited. New Worlds is available on Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music and more. The Ceremony tour is still on, check out the remaining dates below and find tickets here.
