Transporting back to the days of Cyndi Lauper and Rod Stewart, Le Youth has taken Bonnie McKee’s emotionally driven “Thorns” and has us running for the dance floor, just in time for us to get our gluttonous butts off the couch from the holiday weekend.
The LA-based producer Le Youth has some serious skills being able to take any song or sample and flip it into a retro-sounding classic. As soon as his remix for “Thorn” kicks off, we are transported to the late 80s/early 90s, clapping and singing along with our high-rise stone-washed jeans shaking back and forth. The track is upbeat, positive, and just what the doctor ordered getting ready for New Year’s Eve in less than a week.
