House and techno icon Carl Cox has partnered with Manchester’s finest DJ Eric Powell to express their love for disco with their new project MD Funk Connection and the pair have released their first recording “Shante”, out now on Boo Records.
This first recording, with Joe Roberts offering up his scat vocals, gets groovy fast and fans should expect to hear this at many festivals and experience the start of a transformation in house music where soul is being prioritised a little more.
With a bromance that turned into 10 years of celebrated history, it is clear that Carl Cox and Eric Powell trawled through their influential disco, funk and soul collection to create this nostalgic track and reminisce about their Australian tour.
