Back in November 2018, Carnage announced that he would be taking a break from touring to focus on his well-being. Then a couple weeks ago, after a short hiatus, Carnage announced his return by announcing a 15-date tour, which kicked off in Austin, Texas last week. This past weekend, Carnage played his second show at Exchange LA in Downtown Los Angeles.
Carnage got on the decks at exactly 12:30AM and played until around 3:00AM. Although we’ve never seen Carnage spin live before, but we were still definitely impressed by how widely diverse his set was. It was definitely unexpected but a State of Carnage was in full effect. The Guatemalan-American record producer and DJ started off the night with an amalgamation of heavy trap, dirty dubstep, and hardcore psy-trance. The dance floor was packed with fans moshing and jumping in all in unison. It was a wild sight to see.
Around 1:30AM, Carnage started dropping a fun mix of hip-hop, playing hits from today and a few years ago. He even brought out G-Eazy who performed a couple of his own songs live, as well as his collaborations with Carnage. The crowd went wild as they saw the two performing live together. Carnage also brought out DJ Sludge and Shoreline Mafia, who performed a few songs.
From 2:00AM to closing, Carnage started dropping a mix of tech house and deep house for all the die-hard fans who were brave enough to stick around. In between all the house music, Carnage also dropped some unreleased tracks for all the night-owls.
Overall, the whole night was better than we expected. We always knew Carnage put on a good show, but didn’t know his sets could be so fun. He played a widely diverse mix that featured all different genres and sub-genres of EDM, and he kept the party going for all of his die-hard fans who stuck through the night. It’s always nice to see DJ’s show so much love for their fans, especially after being gone for a little while. We’re happy to see Carnage make his return and excited to see what he’s got up his sleeves next!
