Rising DJ and producer CRi recently released his new single “Rush” featuring Ouri, and it’s one that is sure to speak to every sense of your being.
Fresh to the scene, Montreal native Christophe Dubé, a.k.a. CRi, has been making waves in North America over the past two years with his music that is said to be an introspective expression of his thoughts. This young talent brings the rich diversity and affluent culture of his Canadian home city to his thoughtfully mixed tracks that are heartfelt, emotional, and even bewitching. As a self-taught composer and DJ, CRi sites artists including Jamie XX, Caribou and Moderat as his main influences. Most recently, he’s been riding high from his sold out North American tour and is preparing to share his new sounds this summer at Osheaga Festival and Lightening In A Bottle.
Similar to his overall style, the mood of “Rush” is very personal. The entirety of the track feels like an intimate exploration of one’s self that lends to an euphoric experience for the listener. Once again, CRi joins forces with soulful producer Ouri; previously the two have worked together on mixes such as “Why I Love You” and ‘The Other Side of Why I Love You.” This single is part of CRi’s latest EP Someone Else, which dropped less than a week ago. Out now on TOKiMONSTA’ s Young Art Records imprint, it’s made up of 5 brilliant tracks with “Keep It Real’ seemingly a fan favorite. The EP has already accumulated 60k listens on Soundcloud and that number is quickly growing by the minute. With that said, cue us sitting back, relaxing, and calmly venturing down the journey that is “Rush” and the rest of CRi’s Something Else EP.
CRi is easily becoming one of our favorite DJ’s to chill out to this year and we’ve got a funny feeling you’ll be singing the same tune as us soon enough.
