Yet another festival approaches, as the festy season has pretty much come to a close, along with the year 2016. Almost, that is, because we’ve still got one hell of a party to attend in beautiful Colorado. Decadence is only a mere 24 days away, and it is easily one of the best ways to ring in the new year.
Some of the biggest names in the scene right now will be performing, and we’ve compiled a playlist of some of our favorites to get those dance moves ready and those lyrics flowing. Some familiar tracks, and hopefully some new to get your schedule switched up and ready for some artists you’ve never seen before. Let’s get into some tracks we really love and you can catch in the playlist above.
First up, The Chainsmokers. These guys have absolutely exploded. That’s not news to anyone at this point. Remember your friend that said they’d be a one-hit-wonder with “Selfie?” ..Boy were they wrong. The boys know how to crank out hits. One of the absolute biggest of the year is “Closer.” The Chainsmokers are known to play some pretty diverse sets, and you never know what remix of any of their tracks they might throw out. With the insane amount of remixes to this track, we decided to throw in one of our favorites by Jauz. He brings the track to a lot more uplifiting, faster paced Jauz vibe.
Slowing the vibe down a little is “Omen” by Disclosure. The brothers have also been turning out hit after hit, from radio to underground clubs. This is one of their more chill, sexier tracks. A little slower BPM, and a groovy synth added in, with Sam Smith’s higher pitched tenor voice, it’s an instant feel good sing along track.
“All of the love we generate, the only thing that carries me on, there’s nothing we need that it can’t create.”
The man, the myth, the legend, Eric Prydz. If you’ve never heard of, or never seen Eric Prydz, prepare yourselves. He is known for keeping a dance floor moving and dancing non stop. He hypnotizes you in the best ways possible. His track “Generate” is a massive hit, and it’s not hard to see why. Beautiful, yet simple vocals fit like a glove over this upbeat dance track. It’s still one of our favorites, and we’ll never skip it if it pops up on our shuffle.
Next up is Griz. The man of golden sax steel. Accompanied by the uber talented and also instrument wielding group Big Gigantic. This is yet another feel good track (Are you seeing the pattern here? What better way to ring in the new year?) with some funky old school soul feel, and electronic elements mixed in like only these two artists can provide. Try to listen to this one without smiling and grooving. Yeah, good luck with that.
We’re gonna change the tempo up and the vibe completely with this last one. We’re going to really get this party going and break our f*cking necks. Snails. Flux Pavilion. “Cannonball.” We’ve randomly heard this track in different sets throughout the year and wondered, “WTF was that???” Once it was finally released, you could hear the necks of millions, breaking in unison. Almost a hard rock vocal sound, with a daunting build into a colossal first drop. If you haven’t heard this track, from a legend, and a future legend, give it a listen now because you won’t be disappointed.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the playlist above with tracks from Tiesto, Marshmello, Keys N Krates, Flume, and more. And of course, if you haven’t yet, grab your tickets for Decadence Colorado here before they sell out, and prepare for one of the best parties you’ll have attended all year.
