Digital Mirage 2.0 Brings the Summer Festival Vibes Indoors

This weekend saw the second edition of the popular online music festival Digital Mirage. Presented by LA based collective Brownies & Lemonade and YouTube giant Proximity, this event premiered a week later than originally planned to give space to the Black Lives Matter movement. Additionally, the decision was made to shift the beneficiary of this event from Plus1 COVID Relief Fund to Plus1 Equal Justice Initiative and Color of Change. They raised over $60,000 and drew thousands of viewers for the 50+ artists they featured.

There were many notable performances over the weekend. We saw the world’s first underwater DJ set from Chet Porter — and when I say underwater, I mean completely submerged in a swimming pool along with all of his DJ equipment. It was definitely a sight to be seen, and the ambiance perfectly matched his smooth, silky beats.

We also saw a rare Kaskade Redux set, broadcasted from a parking lot in LA. The atmosphere was a little different than you would typically get from the sunrise at EDC, but nonetheless provided all the you would want from such an experience with his signature silky stream of music.

Sunday started off with Griz, who made a statement by live streaming from a Black Lives Matter march in Denver with his mix layered over the visuals. It was a powerful set that included an array of impactful tracks, and ended with 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence. The day culminated with some heavy beats and insane scratching from the one and only ZEKE BEATS who put on a masterfully bassy set accompanied with hypnotizing visuals.
