Many people didn’t think that EDC Las Vegas could get any better, any bigger, or any longer, but they were dead wrong. This year’s EDC Las Vegas 2018 will now take place an entire month earlier on May 18-20, 2018, giving Headliners a cooler time of the year that will now offer for the very first time camping, extended festival hours with early-entry opening ceremonies, and so much more.
Headliners will have four different fully immersive camping options to choose from:
- Rent an air-conditioned GA tent decked out with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, and electrical outlets for up to six attendees, max.
- Rent an air-conditioned Premier tent complete with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, twin or queen-sized beds, linens, pillows, towels, tables, chairs, and lights for up to two or four attendees, max.
- Bring your own RV and hook it up to the pre-arranged power on-site.
- Rent an RV fully set up and ready for arrival, complete with linens and pillows provided
by Insomniac.
With camping now an option, instead of traveling the 16 miles from the Las Vegas Strip to the Motor Speedway, this gives Headliners a great option of being able to walk between the party and their resting spot, signifigantly cutting down on traffic for those that still enjoy staying at the casinos, resorts, or Airbnbs. Included in the camping area will be shade installations, seating, water, vendors, a general store, and a lot of cool activities to enjoy, along with a neighboring area that will create “Sound Camps” where Headliners can build their own themed environments; think Burning Man.
The massive cosmicMEADOW that in previous years welcomed all Headliners as they walked down into a world of wonder will now be hosting opening ceremonies before the gates open up officially each day, that will provide extended sets and a nice cool-down period before the festival begins.
For those of us that had some headaches with the shuttle program last year, Insomniac will now be giving full control of the EDC Las Vegas shuttle program to an independent team which operates the nation’s largest music and sporting events, so you can trust that things will be vastly improved. Currently, construction on the 15 Freeway which which includes an extension to three lanes, along with a pull-off area will help more and more, getting to and from the speedway.

I’m also excited to announce that for the first time ever at EDC we’ll be building an immersive camping experience right next to the Speedway, which will eliminate traffic all together for campers. Shuttle operations will be handed over to an independent company that specializes in the largest music and sporting events in the country. This is what they do and they do it better than anyone else, year over year. I’m looking forward to revealing what this exciting next chapter of EDC Las Vegas will look like in the months to come.
Tickets and camping passes will go on sale Thursday, September 28, at 3pm ET/Noon PT. The following options, all of which will include affordable layaway options (with details coming soon) are as follows:
- Early Owl tier three-day GA passes start at $325, and VIP three-day passes start at $699, both before taxes and fees.
- Wise Owl tier (once Early Owl are sold out) for three-day GA passes start at $340 plus taxes and fees.
- If you need to wait to buy your 2018 tickets, a Later Owl tier for three-day GA passes will be available for $355 plus taxes and fees.
