Undoubtedly surprising news came to EDC fans last night after it was confirmed by Insomniac CEO and Founder Pasquale Rotella that EDC will be moving forward with its planned dates for next month (21st-23rd). While the majority of music festivals have been pushed to late 2021 (even some to 2022), EDC has promised to enact a robust safety plan that will hopefully limit the spread of Covid at the festival. This will include mask mandates, on-site testing, and the use of Covid-19 sniffing dogs. Here’s what Pasquale had to say about the announcement.
Electric Daisy Carnival is finally on the horizon. There were times during the pandemic when many of us lost hope. We were challenged to learn and listen to our hearts and trust that the storm would eventually pass, making way for a bright and sunny future for those in our community and around the world.
However, there’s still some debate over whether international artists and ticket holders will be able to attend the festival, considering the travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines. We’re also told that there could be more news regarding capacity restrictions, after the initial safety plan submitted to the State of Nevada was rejected.
Stay tuned for more news as the situation progresses.
