With a lineup that is tough to beat, this is sure to be EDCO’s biggest yet as they celebrate their 10th anniversary. Leading up to the festival we’ll be showcasing some of our must-see artists for this year’s fest! This week we’ll be putting tropical guru Kygo under the spotlight!
Norwegian-born musician Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll the Tropical House connoisseur we know as Kygo has gone from a bedroom producer to one of the most hyped electronic artists on the planet in an unprecedented time. Known for using the sounds of steel drums, pan flutes, and the marimba, among other tropical instruments Kygo has described his music to ABC News as “happy,” “melodic” and “chill.” The ultimate artist for your next #vacationready playlist.
His first original track ‘Firestone’ft. Conrad Sewell, released in 2014, its exceeded over 7 million plays across SoundCloud and YouTube and over 40 million plays on Spotify, peaking at #4 in the worldwide Spotify chart.
Off his 2016 album Cloud Nine, his single “Stole the Show” ft. Parson James landed Kygo as “the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify (in only 12 months).” His 2017 multiplatinum hit “It Ain’t Me” feat. Selena Gomez went to Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and clocked nearly 1 billion Spotify streams.
He maintained his momentum on the “Stargazing” EP and second album, Kids In Love. Followed by his 2019 release of his third album Golden Hour which featured hits like “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston, “Like It Is” with Zarra Larrson and Tyga, and “I’ll Wait” with Sasha Alex Sloan.
