Announced minutes ago and hot off the press from Electric Forest HQ is the much awaited Phase Two lineup. After letting loose a Phase 1 that blew us all away, realistically there was little else to improve on with a lineup as diverse and creative as this one. No matter though, as this talented group of people are certainly not one to sit on their hands and call it a day with merely a *great* lineup; they want perfection.
Among the group of additions let loose today are Brodinski, Mr. Carmack, Galantis, Wale, Tokimonsta, Lido, Four Tet and many, many others. All of the above artists bring something a little different to the table: whether it’s the French tech vibes of Brodinski, the cutting-edge trap of Mr. Carmack, or the wonderfully produced beats of fast-riser Galantis.
Perhaps of even more excitement though are the six curated stages announced in tandem with Phase Two, check them out below.
That’s right, a Carl Cox & Friends curated stage will be gracing the Forest this year. Taking over the historically “EDM” Tripolee stage, these OG’s of the scene are going to show everyone where electronic music all began. You’d absolutely be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t give Carl Cox, Digweed, and Pete Tong a listen.
Taking over Sherwood Court will be the Future Classic Stage. Artists like Flume, Mr. Carmack, and Lido are all pushing the boundaries of electronic music as we know it, and this is shaping up to be one of the most special stages of the year. Electric Forest says it best, “Future Classic will bring a sample of the groundbreaking sounds from around the world to Sherwood Court…all with a closing set from Flume.”
This will be where the mayhem’s at for the weekend. With unbelievably talented bass artists like Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Crizzly, Minnesota, Koan Sound, and Mt. Eden this will be a polar opposite of what Carl Cox & Friends will be bringing at Tripolee. You’ll be going full bass face and thrashing around with the beautiful Forest fam all day.
This might be our favorite stage of the entire weekend right here. Nestled inside the pristine atmosphere at the Forest Stage, the Lowtemp crew will be up to their usual tricks and come out in full force together as a label. Russ Liquid will bring all the flute and trumpet you can handle and Branx & Freddy Todd will supply the glitch-hop beats. It’d serve as a surprise to noone if Gramatik popped up on stage with any of these guys.
Deep In The Forest is all about chilling out and good vibes. The music of Soul Clap and Wolf & Lamb will have you moving your feet like you didn’t even know possible, and Borahm Lee of Break Science will treat fans to a special solo act. Says Electric Forest “The Crew Love has been cooked up for the past few years, beginning as a concept based around three main ingredients; good peeps, great music and non-stop party vibes.”
Rounding it all out will be the Communion Stage at The Observatory. Always a fan favorite, The Observatory is a centrally-located, prime spot for all fans to frequent throughout the weekend in the middle of the Sherwood Forest. You’ll absolutely want to wander over through here and see how you like it; sometimes the best sets of the weekend happen when you least expect them.
