Just three weeks ago Electric Forest rolled out the second phase of lineup additions headlined by legendary artists Moby, What So Not, Schoolboy Q, The Floozies, Kaytranada, and more. With all the String Cheese you can handle, Zeds Dead, The Glitch Mob, STS9, EOTO, and a fantastic group of supporting artists, it isn’t hard to wonder why this is one of the most anticipated festivals of the summer. Balancing all jams and genres in perfect harmony, Insomniac outdid themselves again as they presented the third phase of artists to their dedicated and loving fan base.
Today, nine more artists were slotted into the already stunning lineup by way of Excision, Classixx, Tycho, Gemini Club, Cosby Sweater, Dixon’s Violin, After Funk, Emerson Jay, and The Woven Tangles. This is undoubtedly a big announcement, with three of the artists (Excision, Classixx, and Tycho) sliding right into headlining status. The internet is abound with some rumblings of discontent, many wondering where artists like Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Big Grizmatik, and other big time names from previous bills are. My answer to that? Explore around the Forest and find new music you weren’t aware of before! With the announcement today, there are artists to fit into every nook and cranny of personal taste and I couldn’t be more excited.
Between phases one and three being released earlier than usual and “More Artists To Be Announced” remaining at the bottom of the flyer, a future phase four release is certainly not off the table.
