Last year, over 100,000 festival goers flocked to the idyllic industrial playground in New York City to revel in all things wild, weird, and wonderful at Elements NYC. Now, our favorite Brooklyn-born festival is back at it again this summer, returning to its new(ish) home at Hunts Point, Bronx on August 11 & 12, 2018. The four elemental stages of earth, air, wind, and fire will set the scene for headliners like Bassnectar, Snakehips, an unannounced player from the Dirtybird fam, and Dance Spirit (Live). They will be joined by tastemakers like Jade Cicada, Sacha Robotti, SNBRN, J. Worra, Desert Dwellers, Goldfish, The Golden Pony, Dance Spirit (live) and many more.
Every year, the boys at BangOn! create a space and experience unlike anything most people have ever experienced in their lives. You can expect this urban asylum of music and arts to be interactive, immersive, and booming with cutting-edge conceptual work from the newest wave of young visual artists using projections, programmable LED’s, and motion capture technology. The vibes of Burning Man will manifest itself through fire breathers and performers, gravity defying aerialists, and other acts that will take your breath away, quite literally. And then there’s the healing garden, food trucks, shops, and so much more.
The 2017 edition welcomed everyone from genre-favorites to eclectic players like GRIZ, Zeds Dead, The Knocks, Flying Lotus, Barcley Crenshaw, Camelphat, Chris Lake, Nora En Pure, Damian Lazarus, Shiba San, Chet Porter, Croatia Squad, Justin Martin, Ekali, and many more. As is tradition, the grounds were locked and loaded with an evergreen of bizarrely intriguing and magical art installations, performances, and activities. Whether you wanted to battle frenemies in a Thunderdome, get a taste of what the 90s rave scene was like, partake in Ecstatic Dance Workshops in the Healing Garden (our personal fave), or veg out on some seriously delicious eats, there were plenty of experiences to dive into.
