With 5 days left before BangOn!Nyc’s annual New York City celebration, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what we’re looking forward to most. This year’s Elements NYC will take place once again in a water-side, post-industrial playground in The Bronx, and with a lineup packing more than 30 artists from around the globe into one day of madness – we promise there’s a lot to be excited for.
Artists from around the globe
BangOn!’s festivals are trademarked by the diversity of their lineups – and we’re not just talking diversity in genres (although BangOn’s flavor for everything from heavy bass to banging techno is just another reason why we love em) – we’re talking about bringing artists from all around the world to the middle of New York City. On this year’s lineup, attendees will be treated to the sounds of South-African multi-instrumentalists GoldFish, the banging, tech-house grooves of Brazilian mastermind Bruno Furlan, dreamy tribal techno from Mexico City-based Mandrake, and Brussels, Belgium born house music wizard Sacha Robotti.
An interactive wonderland
Participation is mandatory at any BangOn! event, and the curators of Element’s NYC don’t make it difficult for you to immerse yourself in the madness. Costumed dancers, fire spinners, and aerialists will engage and entertain, over-the-top art installations will pull you into new worlds, and immersive, intimate hideouts make a perfect place to escape the NYC insanity for a moment. Interactive art and emerging technology are BangOn! event staples, so let yourself indulge in exploration and feel free to play around. After all, we did say participation is mandatory.
Four unique stages
They don’t call it Elements for nothin’ – the earth stage, air stage, water stage and fire stage are the crux of the Elements experience, each offering a unique escapade into a particular genre of music. The earth stage boasts views of the NYC skyline and is home to the low-frequency, bass-driven sounds of Desert Dwellers, Subtronics, and crowd favorite Bassnectar. On the other end of the spectrum, the air stage is a burrow for tribal, techno beats inspired by the ethereal acts performing in it like Dance Spirit and Eli Light. Favor some dirty tech house music? Head over to the fire stage for a full day of hard-hitting, tripped out, 4 by 4 beats from the minds of Dirtybird players Justin Jay, Sacha Robotti, Sage Armstrong, Bruno Furlan, and more. Finally, the water stage is the place to break it down and dance to the bouncing, bass-heavy sounds of SNBRN, The Golden Pony, and Jade Cicada.
Now load some cash on your Subway card and dust off your dancing shoes – we’ll see you at Elements NYC in just a New York minute.
