In 2015 GRiZ fans received a special treat from the master of funk, Part 1 of mixtape named Chasing the Golden Hour. Part 1 encapsulated the sound of summer in a nine track album that gathered millions of streams and gave GRiZ fans glimpse into a creative outlet that was unlike his signature Future-Funk.
Two years have since passed since Part 1 and after a weekend of headlining sold out shows at Red Rocks in Denver, the timing just felt right for the release of Part 2. The sun is setting on summer 2017 and to prolong those last few days pop this mixtape on your playlist and chase the golden hour with GRiZ.
The Golden Hour is a very short period right after sunrise or right before sunset where the glow from the sun is soft and warm, this tiny window gives the world a golden hue. Chasing The Golden Hour Part II is a 10 track album that features Soul, Hip Hop, and R&B. GRiZ did the name justice with his mellow album that will be the perfect addition to any road trip, end of summer barbeque, or even one last hammock session before the winter chill blows in. Instrumental tracks flow into chill dance-y tunes that have this ability to set the world at ease. The change of pace from GRiZ’s normal fast paced funk shows how versatile he really is.
To commemorate the launch of Chasing the Golden Hour II, GRiZ launched a regional beer available in select breweries in Denver. The beer has the same name as the album and pairs perfectly with the vibe of the tunes.
