GRiZ is back with his fourth edition of his Bangers.Zip EP series, featuring yet another side of the producer’s spectrum of musical talents. After a long break from releasing music in 2018, he broke his radio silence with “It Gets Better” and “Can’t Get Enough”. Grant Kwiecinski returned with what was to become a snowball effect of delivering an insane amount of new work. His Ride Waves album amassed millions of streams, with tracks like “A New Day” and “I’m Good” reaching his top five popular songs on Spotify. We all know him to be able to flip from hard hitting dubstep drops to the most intricately composed funk beautifully. Now, Kwiecinski has been exploring his headspace with his Bangers.Zip collection, with the first dropping back in June of this year. Fans have gotten tastes while he was on his Ride Waves tour, even bringing out a live marching band for a few of the stops.
Bangers.Zip [4] comes with three new tracks, ranging from some grooving four-to-the-floor, off-kilter dub, to his big brass takeovers that we love. “Gonna Get Funky” takes on the world of house in true GRiZ fashion, with playful palpitations in the synth and a grooving baseline that doesn’t quit. Jumping across the line, “Get Weird”, pulls in all the stops when it comes to intertwining killer samples with his eclectic range of wubs. Bookending the EP, “Tiger Kingdom Space Camp”, kicks off with a strong horn section before spinning off into a bass heavy anthem that is sure to have fans head banging.
GRiZ has truly made 2019 his year, growing exponentially both within himself and his production universe. All of his projects this year reflect his journey and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
