Griz and Gramatik join forces again as Grizmatik with the release of their new track ‘As We Proceed.’ The two friends are heading the electro-funk game and this time the collaboration proved to be another uplifting banger. Although they formed the Grizmatik project back in 2013, they haven’t released a new track in a few years and funk fans have been waiting this full release since “As We Proceed” was dropped at festivals last year like Hulaween.
With soulful vocals and upbeat percussions, ‘As We Proceed’ is a blend of innovative funk and dirty bass. Griz impresses us again with his jazzy saxophone over melodic piano keys that brings the perfect balance with Gramatik’s signature hip hop and jazz influences. With all the hectic news surrounding the inauguration lately, Grizmatik’s message reminds us to stay positive #AsWeProceed into brighter days.
As We Proceed is about continuing to hold on to the feelings of love and positivity even in the face of such negativity. It’s a piece of encouragement for those feeling the weight of our current cultural climate. — GRiZ
Since joining the All Good Records family with artists like Sunsquabi, Russ Liquid, and Freddy Todd, we’re excited to see what grooves Grizmatik will bring us this year, especially when they reunite at Buku Festival in March.
