Immortal Technique hadn’t crossed my mind in probably a year until last week when I was sitting watching this Ocuppy movement and began thinking about artists showing support. I even asked my boy “Where the hell has Technique been man?” Well ironically in the midst of government uproar, Immortal Technique just dropped a new album called “The Martyr” [TRACKLIST]. Available as of today for free at Viper Records. Don’t fret at the sound of Tech on a deal either; Viper is his independantly owned label.
This track is my favorite of the album and was also dropped early. Civil War features personal favorite Brother Ali as well as Chuck D from Public Enemy and Killer Mike. All four of whom carry lyrical substance of true emcees, tending to always purvey positive messages and a political voice on behalf of the people. This track is no different, calling out cultural assasination, intra-continental street violence, and government policy regarding.
