While many up-and-coming producers attempt to emulate short-lived genres and sounds, LA-based producer Kayzo has carved out a unique identity marked by electro house. With his latest single “Ultrashock”, Kayzo combines the pumping tenets of electro music with dubstep synths. Most electro house tracks have fallen to the tendencies of big room bangers and it is very refreshing to see a producer retain the principles of pure electro.
Released on Candyland’s record label Sweet Shop Records, “Ultrashock” builds with synths that pound and wobble as Kayzo expertly mixes dubstep and electro. The second drop teases trap by reformatting the electro/dubstep synths in one of most unique interpretations of the genre yet. “Ultrashock” should hopefully pave the way for other producers to uphold the traditional elements of electro and return to the genre’s electric roots.
