After experiencing a positive response while performing it live, Kicks n Licks have decided to treat us with the release of their remix to one of last year’s most popular songs. The duo based out of San Diego has roots in Hip-Hop production which has made the transition into Electronic seamless. After entering the Beatport top 20 with two songs last year, the pair have been touring the US, giving fans nationwide a taste of their unique production. Their style spans the genre of Bass Music; from Glitch Hop to Dubstep to Trap, and even delving into Big Room Hip Hop. If its got bass these guys will go at it.
Their remix of “Counting Stars” builds with sped up lyrics over a full chorus of snare, cymbal, and fat horns. The song’s two breaks vary with hollow sounds over a powerful 808, and a dazzling sequence tying together electro with hard hitting horns.
