When news broke that MCP Presents would not be organizing the 2014 return of Camp Bisco, the hearts of thousands of music lovers sank solemnly. Losing such a down to earth camping festival, even if only for a year, is tragic but fortunately it seems our cries have not fallen upon deaf ears.
MCP Presents has gathered their resources to premier a NEW festival this summer that will hopefully ease the pain of losing our beloved Camp Bisco. This exciting addition to the U.S. festival circuit shall be known as “The Hudson Project” and will take place July 11th-13th at the Winston Farm in Saugerties, NY (just outside of New York City) against the backdrop of the glorious Catskill Mountains. This historic location was once home to the 1994 Woodstock Festival and is sure to come blessed with the good vibes of those who raged before us.
“Our goal with THE HUDSON PROJECT was the creation of a music and arts festival that also highlighted the beautiful area where the modern music festival genre was born,” says Brett Keber, Co-Founder/Producer of MCP Presents. “By offering camping with a genre diverse line-up ranging from Rock to Pop, Hip Hop to Electronic and more, we’re hoping to offer a great local option in the U.S. festival market.”
After single-handedly throwing down some of the best events of the season (Counterpoint, Lights All Night, The Buku Project, The Gathering at TomorrowWorld, etc…), there’s no one I trust more than MCP Presents to pull off this outstanding genre-defying venture. This group has always had a knack for combining the perfect mix of artists to create an eclectic lineup that not only appeals to the masses but has character.
The Hudson Project boasts 85 acts across a full spectrum of musical tastes on 4 different stages and will also feature a 5th interactive performance area at the heart of the site. The 5th area will host local musical acts and performance artists/troupes. There will also be a dedicated area that will showcase an art village displaying interactive art exhibitions, regional arts and crafts; a selection of Hudson Valley-area gourmet food, wine, craft beer and specialty cocktail options; and of course CAMPING.
As for ticketing prices, the good people at MCP Presents have taken into consideration our tight budgets and slashed the prices for The Hudson Project’s inaugural event. Starting at only $150 for 3-Day General Admission tickets including camping (or $59 down payment on a payment plan option), there’s really no reason to miss this experience.
