If you’re a fan of disco and pop (or even better, disco-pop), you’re going to want to check out War Is Over, the debut album from Miami Horror’s Joshua Moriarty. This exciting debut brings a new spin on the electro-pop style Miami Horror is known for, giving fans a taste of what they already know and love yet with a new, fresh twist.
“All I Want Is You,” the most recent single from War Is Over, stands out as a highlight of the album with its retro vibes and the contrast between its danceable rhythm and its smooth, almost calming vocals. The very aptly named “Garden of the Gods” opens with tinkling piano and crescendos into disco joyousness that truly does feel like a walk through the Garden of Eden. “The End of the Universe” ebbs and flows with the guitar and heavy percussion of a classic sounding rock song combined with the rising tension of an EDM song building toward the drop. It is an epic journey that functions perfectly as the album’s closer.
Even though he only just released his first album, Joshua Moriarty has already completed his second and is at work on a third. Moriarty remains a part of Miami Horror and his other side projects even with the launch of his new solo endeavor, so while we’re not sure when he finds time to sleep, we’re definitely pleased with the prolific output of this very talented producer.
