“Beach House” mixes 90s – 2000s grunge/alternative rock style vocals with various electronic effects, as if Nine Inch Nails and Illenium did a collaboration is what comes to mind. The combination makes for a style not heard enough in mainstream dance music today. The chorus adds in a distorted guitar loop that conveys the singer’s melancholy perfectly. Breathy effects on his vocals making the experience feel more intimate and private.
The Miami-based duo are new – or at least with this alias – but show promise with their unique hybrid style mixed with rock-oriented live instrumentation.
