Borgore and Protohype combine forces to remix Gucci-inspired rapper Migos’ track “Hannah Montana”. Why exactly they chose this song to remix is beyond me, but I guess it is true when people say there is a dubstep remix to any song. However, Borgore and Protohype definitely throw down the bass on this one and turn this dirty-south track into pure crunkstep.
These are two very upcoming producers, so seeing a collaboration from the two doesn’t surprise me. Protohype really turned heads with his Röyksopp “Running to the Sea” remix with Carnage and has been on a huge rise ever since. Borgore has been associated with Miley Cyrus ever since his mega-hit “Decisions” and so seeing the two remix “Hannah Montana” is almost comical to me. However, fans of dubstep will definitely enjoy the filthiness of this one. It features heavy bass, a very high-pitch synth lead and some Skrillex-like growls in between synths. In between drops the two fuse the trappy snares of the original with trancey synth bars as well, making this song really all over the place.
However, I think these producers are pushing a lot of boundaries (Borgore’s recent song, “Wayak” for example) and I’m excited to see more collaborations in the future. This song will be available for download soon; until then, enjoy.
