As a staple of the festival circuit since 2000, Movement Electronic Music Festival (Detroit’s annual celebration of all things techno) has steadily been gaining in popularity since its peak attendance of around one million attendees in the early 2000s. 2013 was the best year the festival has had since it switched from being a free event, with an official attendance of 107,343. Although the last day of the festival was a TINY bit wet (and by tiny bit, we are of course referring to the torrential downpour that occurred throughout the entire day), the festival went off without a hitch, earning fantastic rave reviews across the board for production quality and overall good vibes.
Movement 2013 set a very high benchmark, and it left many people wondering how Paxahua would top it this coming year. Well, the wait is finally over. The official trailer for 2014’s event has been released, along with ticket information and phase one lineup details. The festival will take place May 24th, 25th, and 26th at Hart Plaza in Detroit, with tier 1 tickets starting at $110. The lineup is, as usual, loaded with techno and tech house DJ’s; notable artists include techno titans Carl Craig and Stacey Pullen, along with Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox (oh yes, oh yes!), Pete Tong, and many others:
More lineup and ticket information is still to come, so make sure you check back here frequently as we will keep you as up-to-date as possible. Movement will be one of the best festivals of 2014, and we’re looking forward to putting our hands up for Detroit and celebrating electronic music with everyone there.
