To follow up the success of PEEKABOO and G-REX’s 2018 single, “Babatunde,” Liquid Stranger’s Wakaan imprint unveils the imminent release of a six-track remix EP. With a VIP from the original artists and fresh edits from names such as Eliminate, TYNAN, Dirt Monkey, um.., and LUCZID, fans can expect ample amounts of dirty bass. From beginning to end, the EP is a proverbial journey through filthy sound to which listeners will certainly break their necks.
After a string of massively successful EP’s, singles, and remixes, all within a few short months, audiences around the world have been captivated by PEEKABOO’s fresh, distinctive, and unique production style. His tracks, “Maniac”, and “Babatunde” have become the festival anthems of 2018, gaining support from the likes of Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Bassnectar, Rezz, RL Grime, and the list goes on.
Although the rise of G-REX can be dated back to 2015, 2018 was certainly a breakout year for Detroit native producer, Jake Sweeney. As he worked to perfect his brand of high energy trap and bass fused with sinister dubstep sound design, he honed in on a deep dark sound that has become a recognizable signature in his music and earned him the respect and support of some of his longtime idols including Skrillex, Excision, and Zeds Dead.
