This week’s Powerful Picks feature some real heavy-hitters. While it mostly focuses on the brutal sounds of dubstep, there is tons of variety in the styles and approach to the earth-shaking genre. No matter what you’re into, you’re sure to find something here you can get down to. If you’re ready to party, crank up that stereo and get ready for this week’s edition of POWERFUL PICKS!!!
Slushii x Marshmello – Twinbow
Starting things off is the infecious collab between superstars Slushii and Marshmello. The song’s uplifting melody is beautifully expanded on with a future bass drop that not only sounds fresh in face of an over-saturated market, but also finds the perfect balance between being heavy and melodic. It doesn’t matter you’re looking for that slice of mental euphoria, or if you just want to shake your booty, this tune is for you.
Terravita & Bare – Right Now (Feat. Tima Dee)
This MASSIVE collab is an experience unlike any other. In it the group of producers carefully and lovingly paint a sonic picture that seriously creates a visual in your head. As if the music alone wasn’t enough to give you goosebumps, the breathtaking vocals of Tima Dee REALLY steal the show. She perfectly blends with the immersive backing track, enhancing it just as much as it enhances her. The drop that follows is not only monstrously heavy, but also diverse and meticulous, creating a real gem that fans of any genre would enjoy.
Buku – Ready 4
Buku is here to deliver a massive trap hit on no other then Spinnin’ Records themselves. With a dirty lead that will be screaming at you and heavy bass that will be hitting you in your chest, “Ready 4” will be a sure staple for festival sets as we grow into the season.
Dr. Ozi – Johnny
With “Johnny” Dr. Ozi finds the balance between an infectious melody and absolutely bonkers sound design, once again gracing Never Say Die Records with yet another off the walls banger. The intro’s many layers gel seamlessly together to create one massive and immersive soundscape, leading into a drop that perfectly evolves and expands on the previous theme.
Figure & Niveau Zeo – Escape
After years of producing his terrifying “horror-step” you’d think that Figure would be running out of ideas, but this collab with Niveau Zero clearly shows that point is nowhere in sight. From the heart-racing melody to bone-shattering bass, this song is grimy perfection. Headbangers beware, you’re in for a scare!
2Budz – Beat Don’t Stop
Breakbeat seems to be going through a bit of a re-invention alongside the rise of bass house, and this tune by 2Budz is a perfect example. The complex tune dances between bass sounds of all flavors, all while maintaining a head-bobbing rhythm and attitude of originality that keeps the listener invested throughout. As if that wasn’t enough, the producers mix things up in the second drop, slowing down the tempo a tad for a house re-mix of the first drop.
Mansionz – STFU (Blvk Sheep x Dimebag Remix)
We’ll finish things off with this MASSIVE future-bass remix by Blvk Sheep and Dimebag. This tune has everything, from infectious vocals and melodies, to incredibly immersive sound design in the drop. The song’s progression always keeps the listener interesting, creating a certified classic that is sure to grace countless playlists this summer!
