Every week we are finding artist who are pushing the boundaries within dance music. From house to bass to future genres, Powerful Picks list some of our favorite recently dropped tunes for you’re listening pleasure. Enjoy.
Fight Night – Follow Through
Combining soulful vocals and highly ambient electronic, Fight Night, forms a emo-meets-edm-esque tune that’s actually extremely good. “Follow Through” follows through with a trippy drop and great all-around musical construction.
The Score – Oh My Love (Kat Krazy Remix)
I love me some Kat Krazy. In particular, his affinity for basing his remixes on the 3-on-4 rhythm style. “Oh My Love (Kat Krazy Remix)” combines heavy and minimal house music with Kat Krazy’s one-of-a-kind style. Beautiful.
The Partysquad Ft Mr Vegas – The Highest Grade
The Party Squad has released a new album, I’m happy to say that Jerry and Ruben are staying relvanet if not pushing the boundaries a bit. Their new album The Highest Grade Vol.1 shows off a more experimental side of the duo.
Staunch – Fight Milk
“Fight Milk” combines glitch-hop and guitar work in a way you’ve never seen before. With grace and a superb jam band feel, Staunch have released Dissecting The Groove, which “Fight Milk” is the first track on.
Modestep – USA Tour Mini Mix 2015
One of the biggest legends in electronic music have released one hell of a mix in celebration of their USA tour which is already underway. If you love bass music and you want to hear some of the best, catch Modestep while they’re on tour.
Wildfellaz & Problem ft. Lil Jon – Andale
Trap just got one of their biggest tracks of the the year, “Andale,” produced by Wildfellaz & Problem. With 808’s flying and a drop hitting hard, this is one tune that will give your subs a workout.
Stonebank – Blast from the Past
Stonebank “Blast from the Past” is the type of sound that Monstercat was built on. Solid electro with amazing music theory that truly tells a story. “Blast from the Past” couldn’t be a more suiting title.
Au5 – Atlantis
Au5 has released “Atlantis,” a song which rivals the epic dark-dubstep sound Seven Lions famously built. “Atlantis” has fascinating space-adventure sounds, with smooth, yet dirty bass. A win-win.
Mr FijiWiji – Yours Truly VIP
Mr FijiWiji is seriously rising in the Monsterecat family. His name doesn’t bring to mind one single genre, which is great. “Yours Truly VIP” adds another differentiating element to what we expect out of his all-around sound.
m.O.N.R.O.E. – On Fire
m.O.N.R.O.E. is the type of house artist that knows how to pull together a trippy, hypnotic experience. Which is exactly what his new Physical Records release “Everything You Got,” delivers on.
Deon Custom – Together
If the album art doesn’t grab you, the first few seconds of this tune will. “Together” is an amazing journey, I could see this music being super special to fans of Porter Robinson, Moving Castle, and various similar sounds in-between.
