This week’s Powerful Picks aims to hit ya hard, as always! We have a fantastic mixture of dubstep, weird bass, and everything in between. If you’re ready to take your week to the next level, then crank up the volume and hit play on our POWERFUL PICKS!
NGHTMRE & Carmada – Embrace (feat. Xavier Dunn)
In NGHTMRE’s newest collab the energetic producer combined rhythm, pads, and vocal melodies to create a euphoric intro that leads into a heavy and bouncy drop. The song’s main bass is hard and wonky, clearly setting itself apart from the more tame elements surrounding it. We’re super impressed with the precision that these artists were able to balance melodic and heavy music!
Bleep Bloop – K9 Unit (feat Gary Paintin)
Weird bass pioneer Bleep Bloop is at it again with his newest banger! The comical vocals of Gary Paintin set the scene for a bass drop that truly catches the listener off guard. Once it hits the producer continues to evolve and mutilate the original bass, leaving the listener on their toes at all times. This one is sure to throw any crowd for a loop when dropped live.
Cardi B – Bodak Yellow (Slimez Bootleg)
Cardi B is blowing up right now, and who else is more deserving to help usher her music into the rave scene then heavy dubstep producer Slimez? With this hard hitting remix Slimez lays the rapper’s boastful rhymes over some super thick drums, before leading into a drop that continues to evolve with each bar. The listener is never left feeling bored because at every turn this slick producer finds new ways to keep their attention engaged.
Savoy – How U Like Me Now (feat. Roniit)
Savoy’s latest track “How U Like Me Now” on Monstercat is one catchy track with an amazing electro drop. This melodic hit will get you addicted quickly with the angelic vocals of Roniit. With quality production, this release is nothing less then what you would expect from Monstercat.
Freddy Todd – Audible Edibles
The lead single off Freddy Todd’s upcoming album on Wakaan contains the same level of weirdness that we’ve come to expect from the producer, while also being more accessible than ever. If you like interesting rhythms and ever-changing sound design then this track is sure to be just what the doctor ordered! It’ll be super interesting to see how this sonic journey fits into the experience of the full album.
Crankdat – Dollars
With “Dollars” Crankdat strays from his normal style of dark and heavy drops in favor of a euphoric and melodic one. Every element in this track, from the vocals, to the synth pads, all come together to create a sonic experience that is sure to bring joy to anyone who opens their mind enough to give it a listen. We definitely look forward to what else Crankdat has in store after this successful switch up.
Zhena – Move
Upcoming producer Zhena is here to bring forth his latest release on Lowly Palace. “Move” is an addicting house track with pounding kick that will drive you throughout the entirety of the track. Make sure to keep an eye on this young producer, as his upcoming releases are some you won’t want to miss!
We Might Fall (Jack Squire & MAXR Remix)
This remix of Ghastly and Matthew Koma’s “We Might Fall” is one that caught our attention. With Jack Squire and MAXR teaming up to give us their take on the track, the two high-energy drops are perfect to get any crowd rowdy. We definitely have our eyes on these two for future releases!
