FESTIVAL SEASON HAS BEGUN and everyone is releasing tracks. We couldn’t grab everything, but what you see below is a nice dose of great news music that will make your day, road trip, or pre-festival playlist perfect. RaverRafting has 6 people at MMW and 3 at Buku Music Festival at the moment, if you see us reach out and show some love!
Loosid – Clouds (feat. Raycee Jones)
Loosid embraces all forms off bass music in this one. Sick basslines, future bass, electro, and more are all packed into a flowy, fluidy experience that gets trippier with every passing moment. There are certain sounds that you make go “htf did he think that!” “Clouds” is one tune where you hear and learn more with each new listen.
Kap Slap – Bootie Bundle 3
Back in the day when labels and corporations were less concerned about online music, Kap Slap was famously known for his Spring Break featured mostly in the early 2010’s. Fast forward to now, Kap Slap sticks to his roots, but has updated and enhanced the title, cover art, and music in eye-catching, fun ways. His SoundCloud gives a preview of “Bootie Bundle 3” which is truly Kap Slap in his natural setting – enjoy.
Gazzo – What You Waiting For (feat. Sugarwhiskey)
Gazzo just made some mad moves. Last I heard the dude got signed to Casablanca records and had upped the production creativity and quality in all the right ways. Now he’s clearly completely rebranded and come at music from a multi-instrumentalist point of view, the impression I get is all the live instrumentation work was done by him, fly! Check out his Facebook for a cool personal video paired with the song.
Wiwek & Skrillex ft. Elliphant – Killa (Cosenza Remix)
When I hear successful writers turned producers/DJs, bells go off in my head. Cosenza is just that. This is far from his first song too. With over 2m plays on his account, he’s released BLANK, blending multiple genres into one track with impeccable grace – melodic empathic introverted vibes pair with insane club drops, PERFECTLY – unlike anything I’ve heard.
Bakermat – Gone
From the very start, I could tell this was going to be something different, “Gone” is the first time I’ve heard a slurred sub bassline in a song – let alone the sound mixed with such a passionate, relaxing, and mysterious beat. Bakermat is the most refreshing artist I’ve heard all year.
Project 46 & BYNON – Castles
Released on Kaskade’s own label, this release pushes EDM anthems to the limit, sliding in a simple bell sound drop that solidifies “Castles” entry into main stage sets all year. The tune really speaks for itself and is full of surprises. I look at Project 46 & BYNON in an entirely new light now.
R.LUM.R – Nothing New
Each year showcases a new lineup of clever r&b singers that rise up on the charts. ARTIST is one to look out for. Fantastic song construction paired with oh-so good vocals makes “Nothing New” a sound worth holding on to.
HAEZER – Hard Rollers EP
The best trait about Haezer is easily the industrial feel all of the tunes on BLANK EP carry. The tracks would fit well into the middle of both a heavy trap or house set, boasting sick, dark bassline but not going too extreme in any particular direction with it. BLANK EP is some of the most original heavy bass I’ve heard in a while.
Different Sleep – No Time (ft. Jarell Perry)
As soon as I heard the first five seconds of this song, it reminded me of Burial – which is a good thing. The pop-laced super chill track that is “No Time (ft. Jarell Perry)” is an extension of some of the best vibed chill tracks out there right now, this is one you don’t want to miss.
Notaker – Feel The Rain (Extended Mix)
“Feel The Rain (Extended Mix)” is a euphoric juxtaposition to the powerful tunes features on this list. Notaker is indeed powerful, but the progressive theme of the speaks volumes 99% through pure instrumentation. The tune is perfect for both happy and sad moment life brings before us.
Crywolf – Wake [E-bow] (Varien Remix)
Varien has adventurous, visionary music that’s mind boggling. The Tampa-based solo producer captures many moods in one tune once again with “Wake [E-bow] (Varien Remix).” Bits of guitar work, bits of symphonic work, and a whole lot of feel good come together to form one tune you won’t soon forget.
Manufactured Superstars Featuring Danni Rouge – Great Escape (Snøwmass & Sir Matty V Remix)
Sir Matty V has come a long way and has always stuck to progressive vibes, this time fans get a 2 for 1 deal as Snowmass and Sir Matty V combine efforts to make BLANK, a catchy pop progressive anthem that is candy to the ears.
