The month of October has experienced a rise in insanely good music from DJs big and small. Knife Party, Dirty South, and Dillon Francis are all releasing new albums within week of each other and SoundCloud is bustling with amazing sounds from every corner of electronic music. Below is a snapshot of the awesomeness that’s impacted us this week, enjoy the buffet.
Style of Eye – Louder (Botnek’s Weirder Mix)
As soon as I saw Botnek’s name pop up on my SoundCloud stream, I knew it was going to be a good week. The duo have a reputation for producing groundbreaking remixes as well as featuring sounds and energy that’ve simply never been done before. Their “Weirder Remix” of Style of Eye’s “Louder” clearly conveys the elements supporting Botnek’s quickly growing audience.
Tut Tut Child – Hot Pursuit
Tut Tut Child shows off a powerful and gradual growth in energy with “Hot Pursuit.” Tracks that start out super quiet and end up exploding with energy are just down-right memorable. This element and so much more is all packed within Tut Tut Child’s latest on Monstercat, “Hot Pursuit.”
Cash Cash – Surrender (Tritonal Remix)
I knew Tritonal had epic-producing skills, as heard through their music, but I mentally boxed them in alongside darker acts like Seven Lions. Their “Surrender” remix proves Tritonal’s style is truly genreless – essentially “Surrender (Tritonal Remix) in the duo in a brand new setting.
Dillon Francis – Love in the Middle of a Firefight
Dillon turned the embed share code off on SoundCloud so I had to post it this way.. but the new track is pretty fantastic! 2014 has brought an onslaught of new, great EDM singers to the scene. Dillon Francis’s collaboration with Brendon Urie is another brilliant notch in 2014 EDM vocal history. Keep your eye out for more Dillon’s new album “Money Sucks, Friends Rule” out 10/28!
BANKS – Beggin For Thread (Gryffin & Hotel Garuda Remix)
Two artists with a sound all their own have teamed up to flip BANKS’s “Beggin For Thread.” After testing out the single in clubs, Gryffin and Garuda decided to unleash the single completely for free. Hotel Garuda and the crew of artists they associate with represent a new wave of EDM that’s set to go mainstream in a few short years.
T-Mass & PatrickReza – Faith
The mysterious and dark single brought to you by T-Mass & PatrickReza contains alot more zest than it initially lets on. The trap-hybrid “Faith” makes you want to get down and dirty in the smoothest, classiest way possible – an all-around innovative addition to the trap music scene.
MitiS feat. Crywolf – Oasis (Bear Grillz Remix)
There’s no denying it, Bear Grillz is on the rise. Breathing new life into a semi-stagnate bass music scene, Bear Grillz melodic dubstep/drumstep style has blown mind across oceans, “Oasis (Bear Grillz Remix)” is another quality example of why.
Becky Hill – Losing (Icarus Remix)
It’s no secret that deep house vibes are the next new thing. The genre has significantly spread its wings melodically and energetically in 2014. The beauty that Icarus has decided to bestow on us brings to light why, in part, deep house is taking on new fans so quickly.
