The greek brothers, most notably known for their mega-hit with Borgeous “Tsunami” as well as their overall power-packed house sound, have exploded within the last 18 months, playing shows alongside juggernauts such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Carnage and garnering support from Martin Garrix and Sander Van Doorn. So where did these dudes comes from and how did a series of releases transform DVBBS from a local favorite to a worldwide sensation?
The two have always had an open-mind, taking in various genres at different periods of their lives. At an early age, Sublime, Blink 182, Rancid were always on repeat for Alex and Chris and the idea of their own band wasn’t far behind. After playing in various rock bands until the turn of the decade, Alex and Chris asked themselves the question “Why not remix our own tracks and see how it turns out?” The result was a 2012 EP that set the stage for DVBBS and the sucess thereafter.
Soon after, DVBBS released their collaboration with Swanky Tunes and Eitro entitled “We Know,” a powerful electro-house ballad with incredible lyrics, a track that open doors to new opportunities for Alex and Chris. Opportunities that no one could of anticipated.
Their next release would be a collaboration with Borgeous called “Tsunami,” and the rest is history. The track would go on to accumulate over 10,000,000+ plays over the next year, skyrocketing DVBBS into the main stage spotlight and changing their lives forever. From then on, their life became a whirlwind of live shows, studio time, interview, charity events, and so on.
The duo seem to thrive in a collaborative environment. Almost all of their tracks feature major league DJs names next to theirs and all of them contain hard-hitting, fun moments but most importantly uniqueness and originality. DVBBS have previously collaborated with the likes of Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Vinai, Tony Junior, MOTi, Sander Van Doorn, Martin Garrix, and more. All their tracks have been released via big name labels such as Spinnin’ Records and Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom.
DVBBS has an onslaught of awesome releases, but their live shows pack more excitement than you’d ever expect. No surprise that Rowdytown locked the duo in to play Red Rocks this September. DVBBS, along with other big name DJs like Big Gigantic and Trippy Turtle will all be laying down sick, diverse sets from every corner of EDM-sphere.
