Seven Lions is “Calling You Home” with Infectious Remixes Out Now on Ophelia Records

Seven Lions is showing love to artists remixing his first single release “Calling You Home” that premiered on his new record label, Ophelia Records, he created for 2018. Jeff Montalvo has been busy the past few months playing with different music releases like getting back to his dubstep roots with his Kill The Noise collab “Cold Hearted”, to The Observatory where he is free to mix his tracks that are a little more unconventional, to totally reinventing his live performance for the “Chronicles” series to hit the stage this summer. Fans know that anything with Seven Lions is honestly just magical so we’ve been excitedly waiting to see what other melodic, genre-bending, inspiring goodness he will release next.

If you haven’t had a chance to hear the original, “Calling You Home”, it’s a definite nodback to more dub inspiried roots while still being able to hit you in the feels. Check out our review of the original release here. The two remixers that Seven Lions has featured on Ophelia are by Direct and longtime Anjunabeats contributor Oliver Smith. Direct takes a much more relaxed, personal take on the single, with gentle synths accompanying Runn’s smooth voice. Oliver Smith switches it up with a fast paced buildup and a smooth drop into a trance inspired melody. Smith isn’t afraid to bring in some dark elements with that ominous synth before totally lifting us up again. And then it’s just a masterful back and forth between both moods. Montalvo definitely found the best remixes for his single, each completely different in their own yet hold key to that original Seven Lions vibe.
