SHY is a veteran in the dance music space with a career dating back to the 90’s. From his work with his duo project, TRYST to now, SHY has become known as a storyteller and has defied genres along the way. Just solely based on the records he has produced over the past two years, we’ve seen his ability to create diverse pieces, “You Got Me” – a driving house banger, “Mind Blown” – a funky summer hit, “Stay With Me” – an emotional electro-pop track, and finally, his latest work of art, “Take My Life” – a soulful, deep house love story.

“Take My Life” is a deep, passion-filled composition of lush piano chords and percussion rolls that melt into an array of velvety vocals. The singer captures the true feeling of hopelessly waiting for love with powerful lyrics and a chorus that reads, “if I fall with you tonight, swear that you won’t take my life.” It’s a simply beautiful, classic tale of longing for someone and wishing the love be reciprocated. SHY’s “Take My Life” has showed us another side of his musical storytelling and it may be our favorite one yet.
