Premiered last week on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 show, Sonny Fodera announced the launch of his new imprint AARRIVAL with the first release being his very own “Set Me Free”.
Sonny Fodera made his major impression on the house circuit in 2013 with his debut album ‘Moving Forward’ on Green Velvet’s esteemed, Cajual Records. His impressive discography does not end there. His catalog includes the compilation series ‘Deep Down & Defected’ and ‘In The House’ for Defected Records, and more recently his full length studio album, ‘Frequently Flying’.
His talent as a producer has not gone unnoticed, Fodera has received recognition from some of the greatest house legends including Green Velvet, Derrick Carter, and the ‘Godfather of House’ himself, Frankie Knuckles. He has collected praise for his prodigious talent as a DJ and producer, and we foresee just as much commendation as he adds label head to his ever-growing resume.
The Aussie’s debut label release, “Set Me Free”, delivers his signature groove driven house made up of chunky basslines, hints of quirky wobbling synths, and lovely repetitive dialogue about falling in and out of love. The original has a cool infectious vibe; it’s fresh, it’s funky, and has all the components of a great tech house track.
