Space Jesus and Freddy Todd are making waves to bring their new project Guccimen to Baltimore on Thursday, Jan 26th. Exploring strange bass and alien sounds, the duo released the Guccimen EP last month along with their East Coast winter tour dates, blessing the DMV with a stop at Game in Baltimore.
Guccimen’s glitch-hop influences and wonky synths range from alien vocal samples to filthy dubstep vibes that takes you through the basslines of trippy dimensions. With songs like “Pnoid” and “Goal’t”, their fusion of dubstep and trap creates a heavy, experimental intergalactic genre in Guccimen EP, which we reviewed here.
The Guccimen will take over Game Warehouse, in the same place where Badass Raves rang in the New Years with Laser Disco. Badass is collaborating with Bass Tribe Baltimore and Spirit to bring together a diverse scene of talent and artists around the DMV community. With two rooms of production, the night will bring local artist support like Mack.Neato, Raptorstein, and Haptik, just to name a few, as well showcase vendors and live painters, including UV face painting by Baltimore artist Will Shanklin.
The Guccimen project brings out the unique styles of Space Jesus and Freddy Todd to curate a fresh fusion of wonkiness. Rising in the underground bass music scene, the two producers proved their bass wizardry on the Meanwhile… compilation working alongside the talented Wakaan family with Liquid Stranger, Bleep Bloop, and Esseks. After Space Jesus’s Zoned Volume One mix and Freddy Todd’s Khrysos EP, the two men finally teamed up to fuse a heavy dose of weirdness and bring us wobbles that is just unworldly.
The last two Space Jesus shows in the DMV were sold out and unforgettable, and we’re expecting it even filthier this time with Guccimen so don’t sleep out on tickets.
