On April 22, Dim Mak president and world famous DJ Steve Aoki announced the release date for part one of his double album Neon Future will be August 12, 2014. In addition to this, Aoki will play a release party at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on August 16.
The album will feature collaborations with Empire of The Sun, Fall Out Boy, Flux Pavillion, will.i.am and Waka Flocka Flame, who appears on the lead single “Rage The Night Away.” The second part of the double album will drop sometime in early 2015. ”I see the future in a more of a utopian sense, built through technology, music and color,” Aoki told Billboard. ”These concepts became the driving force for the creation of my first double album.”
EDM juggernauts like Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren and Swedish House Mafia have thrown release parties at the iconic Madison Square Garden before. What’s even more impressive? This show will be streamed live on YouTube.
Tickets for the August 16 show go on sale on May 9. Purchase them here.
