After diving into music production at age 12, it’s obvious to see why Synova is reigning in a new era of electronic music. However, Synova’s production expertise is not the only thing that sets him apart. This talented artist played drums in numerous local bands throughout his childhood and has a strong background as an instrumentalist. Inspired by the synesthesia phenomenon, Synova’s vivid and powerful storytelling abilities are evident in his newest album, Bubble Tape.
Following Synova’s previous LP on san holo’s bitbird label, Bubble Tape is a nine-track compilation that takes listeners on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Throughout it, songs like “Go Faster” and “Denver VIP” deliver uplifting progressions of future bass. Meanwhile, “Something Has To Change” showcases riveting drum & bass, and other tracks are a bit heavier in nature. Bubble Tape even includes a special edit of “WAP” by Cardi B.
Discussing his project as a whole, Synova explains, “Synova is where I feel the most alive. I will never ever stop wanting to discover new music, write it, and perform it. It’s been this way since I was born and I’ll take it to my grave. Everything in life for me is dealt with by music somehow. I do it because the feeling is unmatched anywhere else. When music is involved, I feel the most myself.”
