Thank you for joining us on this week’s episode of TechThisOut, WRR fam! For this session, we’re going to dive deep into a variety of tunes crafted to sound innocent on the surface – but pack quite a punch the further it progresses. Kick off your shoes, turn up the volume and let’s TechThisOut!
1. Huxley – I Want You (Deetron Remix)
We’re starting off this music Monday with Deetron’s remix of Huxley’s “I Want You,” exclusively featured on Pete Tong’s most recent Essential Selection. It’s a vocal-driven melody with an electro groove to it. Don’t let this track fool you – though everything sounds light on the surface, it’s a rather heavy beat that’ll keep you dancing until the wee hours of the morning!

2. Lex – Roll On (Raffaello Bonaga Remix)
“Roll On” is a tech house rendition that also knows how to go deep. Posh synths, boisterous claps, and a dance-heavy bassline attribute to the fluidity of this tune; while smooth spaced out sounds really capture the listener’s undivided attention. Italian producer, Raffaello Bonaga, shows us his unique take on Lex’s original hit track.

4. Victor Calderone – Burden
It doesn’t get better than Victor Calderon’s “Burden.” This Brooklyn-based producer showcases industrial synths, a distinct bassline, old school techno claps and distorted vocals to keep the listener in a constant groove. “Burden,” released on Drumcode Records, embodies the perfect silhouette of a dark, grungy Brooklyn techno club – and we love it!

5. Ruben Mandolini – Also! (The Junkies Remix) [SC-EDIT]
Let’s close this week’s episode with The Junkies’ remix of “Also!” It’s a heavy banger lying in the guise of a light, minimal track. Although everything is smooth and easy to listen to, there are a lot of powerful elements to this techno tune. A dark aura surrounds the sound, accompanied by industrial overtones, haunting vocals and cheeky claps.
