Hailing from Toronto, Koal Harrison, better known as The Kount, has multiplied his influence as a producer and beatpack creator over the last few years. This talented artist has already had co-signs with Madlib, Noname, and other rising performers, during the early stages of his career. As he continues to strengthen his skill set in sound design, The Kount has decided to collab with Kaelin Ellis on their new LP, Vignette.
A veteran in the music industry, Kaelin Ellis has over 12 years of live performances and hands-on experience. Residing in Lakeland, Florida, Ellis is a gifted producer and multi-instrumentalist, who is extremely well-versed in blending components of modern jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. This multi-platinum superstar has worked on projects with the likes of Danny Brown, Lupe Fiasco, K-pop group EXO, and more.
Together, The Kount and Ellis are a force to be reckoned with. Vignette highlights their creativity and crisp production knowledge, featuring soothing beats with uplifting layers of chord progressions. The 13-track album is overflowing with chilling jazz and lo-fi hip-hop, taking listeners on an auditory journey through their minds.
This compilation also comes with a free kit that includes 40 spellbinding sounds used throughout it. Tracks like “MOVIN UP”, “ASMR”, and “CIRCUS” each highlight Ellis and The Kount’s outside-the-box approach to inventing distinct cross-genre sounds.
