I am not sure if it is the art, the sound, or a combination of both, but when I was asked to premiere “Novella” the group’s style jumped out at me. “Novella” taps into the sounds that act’s like Quix, PLS&TY, and ATLiens helped popularize earlier this year – a strong, experimental percussion layer alongside monotone melodies and a super strong 808 bass.
Twofold is following his summer hits, with tracks locking in over 100K plays on SoundCloud alone. He clearly knows his brand and sound well, given the consistencies he showcases throughout each release, but also evolves the sound over time – a righteous combination.
Holly is a beast, releasing on every rising label you should care about, from Lowly Palace, to Heroic, Dim Mak, Fools Gold, and so many more. MalLabel was smart to lock in a release from an artist like this.
