We’re back for Volume 6 of our ‘Unwind The Mind’ piece. Featuring a combination of some of our favorite semi slept on songs of the week, we’re here to help you find some currently undiscovered talent, along with a few gems by bigger names that could have slipped through the cracks. Check it out!
Shywalker – Late
Hebinomichi Compilation Vol.3 is turning out to a really great project. One of my favorite cuts of the Soundcloud collective’s newest release has to be the ambient, oddly inciting Shywalker single, “Late” for various reasons. For starters, most of the other songs (on this Compilation & the other two) are trap influenced or themed – but this is pretty much the opposite of that which was a cool change of pace for me.
Element – Daydream (ft. Jack Forster)
“Daydream” is a sick new song by Brooklyn producer Element and Jack Forster on vocals. The hip-hop soaked future trap style is a spacey new blend of sounds that will get you hyped for whatever festivities you plan to do this evening! This is the first time hearing any music by either artist but I plan to keep an eye out for new music soon and hope to hear another collab soon enough!
BØRNS – Electric Love (Oliver Remix)
Oliver is one of the most overlooked DJ & production duos currently on the scene. While some know them due to the Fool’s Gold Records released EP that came out a couple years back, not enough people understand how talented these guys are. On their latest release they put a disco-funk flip on “Electric Love” by BØRNS, completely re-imaging the original to their own sound!
Sage Nebulous – Are My Memes Too Dank?
Really been vibing this one all week long. “Are My Memes Too Dank,” quite a goofy song name, yes, but the production quality is on point. Bringing together future bass, house, chill wave and various other electronic sub-genres, the track is all over the place but somehow holds it composer to create something rad.
KOLAJ – The Touch (Pusher Flip)
Canadian producer Pusher recently did a handful of tour dates with The Chainsmokers, shortly after that he released this glistening glitched out edit of “The Touch” by KOLAJ that is soaked with a shiny 80’s sound. He’s known for his fabulous remixes and this one another to add to that list!
Wild & Free – River of Nile
Wild & Free is a duo that’s making some groundbreaking music. This time around they’ve blessed us with a new project. “Drew Kramer (of Les Professionnels) and George Cochrane (of Give In) aka Wild & Free have offered up “River of Nile,” which marks their most chilling release to date. The single comes off the Moonholwer EP (out today via LA’s buzzing label RIS Labs). Stoney Roads writes, “The track is an all-out blissful affair with percussive sounds bubbling amongst slapped riffs and soft vocals that’ll transform your current garb into a salmon coloured shirt, creamy flares and slick hair.””
Caroline D’Amore – Come To California ft. National Anthem (Original Mix)
Out now through Casablanca Records is Caroline D’Amore’s West Coast themed hit “Come To California” featuring some vocals by National Anthem. The upbeat House and Pop hybrid will have you off your feet and on the dance floor by the end of the song thanks to steady kick, catchy piano line, and a combination of other fresh sounds.
KRNE x Sober Rob – Icy
Next level shit by KRNE and Sober Rob for “Icy” – a booming new trap collab between the two. While KRNE has already established himself in the scene with continuous hard hitters, now it’s time for Sober Rob to prove himself as another producer to quit sleeping on. Turn this one up and get ready to mosh because it bangs!
